How Do I Choose the Right Perfume For My Body Chemistry?

The ladies perfume section of a department store can be an overwhelming place to be. There are so many scents and vapors in the air that sometimes my eyes tend to get irritated and my sense of smell gets overwhelmed. Because of the intensity of this place, it is actually very hard to decide on a perfume while you are there. Choosing the right perfume is a process that takes time and repeated visits to the perfume department.

First, you should go to the store with no scents on so that you are not influenced by any interactions there might be between perfumes. You need to decide what type of scent you are interested in. There are three main types of perfumes including oriental, flowery, and citrus. Once you decide which category you like best the sales person can point you to a few things to try. You should put one scent on at a time. The best places to put the sample are on your wrists, your neck or behind your ears. Then you should leave the store. You want to periodically check the scent over the next few hours. Your unique body chemistry will react with the chemicals in the perfume and create a scent that is unique to you. No perfume smells the same on two different people. Then you will repeat this process as often as necessary until you find the right ladies perfume for you.

Once you choose the perfume you like best, you need to make sure that you take care of it properly so that you will be able to enjoy it for as long as possible. Perfume should never be exposed to extreme temperatures or direct sunlight for too long. Also, the longer you have a bottle open, the more the scent will change. That is why it is sometimes better to buy smaller sizes because you are more likely to use them before chemical breakdown of the mixture changes the scent into something unpleasant.

Wrappings Perfume by Clinique - Love it Or Hate It?

It would seem that Clinique Wrappings perfume is like Marmite - you either love it or hate it. In my experience, this fragrance never fails to get me noticed - and always in a good way! It is the only scent I have ever worn where strangers have stopped to ask me what perfume am I wearing.

This perfume is a well kept secret with a cult following. Like any good cult product, it is only recognisable to those in the know. Fans will always comment when they detect a fellow user wearing the fragrance. Often this can lead to a hushed and knowing discussion covering top secret information such as where the wearer bought it and how much it cost. It appears that ladies will go to great lengths and leave no stone unturned to ensure an uninterrupted supply.

The uninitiated may wonder how a perfume could cause normally sane women to worry where their next bottle is coming from. The fragrance was officially discontinued several years ago. The campaign to have it reinstated has been steadily gaining momentum ever since. Clinique now only release it very occasionally for the holiday season. It is very hard to find in Europe and usually only available in the US. UK-based shoppers have been known travel to the Big Apple just to stock up. Those unfortunate enough not to be able to nip across the Atlantic for theirs, will often as a last resort fork out huge sums on the internet, rather than go without.

Clinique Wrappings perfume is sold in eau de perfum form only, and as such, is already much stronger than the usual eau de toilette imposters posing as perfume these days. Ironically, despite its strength, the fact that the wearer is so happy and proud to be sporting this perfume at all, makes it likely that they will spritz themselves with a little bit extra - just to show off.

My friend Kate says she does not understand what all the fuss is about. " I can smell you a mile off" she can often be heard moaning on a girlie night out. This of course is music to my ears. Coincidentally, Kate is gorgeous, but for some inexplicable reason, terminally single. There is no scientific proof that my perfume attracts male admirers, but it certainly provides a talking point.

A quick poll of ten random passers by on London's Oxford Street, carried out in the name of research for the purpose of this article, drew the following results:

Love it - 7 (3 female, 4 male)
Hate it - 2 (female)
Really Really love it - 1 (male, 30ish, asked for my number)

Reader, draw your own conclusions. I'm off to get ready for my date. Now, where's my Clinique Wrappings perfume.....

Perfume Review Carolina Herrera - CH

Red is my favorite color. It surely justify the reason why I fell in love instantly with this fragrance. I was obsessed. I kept saying to myself that I did not another perfume to be stuffed into that cramp space on the lowest rack of my closet. But, could you prevent a mad, haunting thought that somebody would wear a perfume whose bottle is terribly beautiful you decided it definitely was a perfect time to part with the newly-withdrawn-from-ATM rupiah-bills?

I could not help myself, I have to have it, snatch it before anybody found out, before it was being featured in fashion magz everybody started flocking to nearest CH counter in the most happening mall Grand Indonesia. Oh, this infatuation, this horrible feeling. And, that was only for mass-market-perfume! Gosh, I was so disgusted with myself but guess what, I still ran to the store just to catch a whiff of it. I promised I would never buy big bottles, not until I could make my perfume wardrobe a wee bit tidy.

Just as I expected, CH is as beautiful as its bottle. I don't care much whether it will capture the essence of New York as per information shared in its marketing campaign. Nor I care whether it will bring back Carolina Herrera, Jr's lifetime memories. What I know is that: it surely is pretty creation. Explosion of fruit, composed of grapefruit and melon, accompanied my journey toward a day of fantasy, of free childhood memories. After, a part of my childhood memories revealed: a remembrance of time when eating Monde cookies filled with milky lemon cream bring back a smile and happiness beyond expectation. Oh, I do remember that time, when I was so simple, and milk and cakes were the best things in the world that could ever happened to me. I sat on small chair, its leg almost broken, rocking back and forth seeing my friends chasing themselves and laughing. To me, composition of praline and bergamot is genuine and inspiring.

Half an hour has passed. I found CH turned into something..(frankly) ordinary. It was just a taste of jasmine and a bit of rose. When I almost gave up and decided it might be beautiful at first but unimpressive in the middle, CH shocked me by presenting a soft, cinnamon scented cashmere. I was in awe. I love cashmere to the core, either in fabric or in anything more abstract like fragrance. Its delicate yet fragile texture exposes an aura of elegance: exactly just like CH brings to mind. So, when the woodsy notes come, it just emphasized this freedom of elegance even more, leaving a trail to a bliss of both carefree girl and independent, sensual woman.

Ah, Ms Herrera Jr, you made a my life more beautiful today. Thanks so much.

Top Notes: bergamot, grapefruit, sicilian lemon, melon Middle Notes: praline, bulgarian rose, jasmine sambac, orange blossom, cinnamon Heart Notes: leather, cashmere, sandalwood, cedar wood, patchouli, amber, musk
